The temple is designed in such away that if the devotee exits through the northern entrance at Lord Muruga shrine, it makes a clockwise round as The idol of Karuppannasamy is heroic in appearance while those Kannimar deities look calm. During the noon time puja on Fridays, devotees come in large numbers for the grace of the deity. The Pongal festival is celebrated the next day.
On the first day, water is fetched Cauvery river for abishek to the deity. Each year a Pongal festival is celebrated in the month of Aadi (July-August) for two days.
